Happy Feet Two App Design!
Vani collaborated with SLAM on creating the front end design for this adorable app featuring the penguins of Happy Feet Two! You can feed, tickle, high-five and even play a drum game with him. Record your own videos of your penguin, save them to your library, share them on Facebook or send them by email.
Vani was ecstatic to find out that after a few months of being available to users it is now the number one app downloaded in the Warner Theatrical Division. The app is available on iTunes.
Envision Productions Get’s New Look
One of Vani’s first clients was Doug Brannigan and Envision Productions! An absolutely talented and breathtaking event and corporate videography service at it’s finest! Doug ran into an issue that with time the web has changed so drastically and the ability to showcase videos in HD and larger scale on the web now is so much easier. His existing site we created, though beautiful was not very practical for the “new way” of showcasing his work. So, our solution – we moved him to a Worpdress platform, uploaded all the videos using VIMEO and now Doug has the ability to update and manage his site content as he continues to create masterpieces with his lense! Peppercorn Kids Launched!
A good part of 2011 was spent with a fantastic client – Peppercorn Kids! Vani created all the user interface design for each screen showcasing the beautiful handmade products from Peppercorn Kids. Handstand Kids Cooking Accessories Designed By Vani
Earlier this year Vani worked with a dear friend and Colleague Yvette Garfield on the creation of the Handstand Kids Cooking Accessories. These adorable cooking accessories include a colorful block pattern print that Vani created using key ingredients and utensil illustrations that are featured throughout the Handstand Kid Book line. The prints were created and then used on an oven mitt, a chef’s hat and an adorable kids apron. Wish they came in grown up sizes!! WimBim Mobile App Re-Design
Vani just finished a re-design of the mobile App WimBim. The developer and creator of the site are in the process of implementing the new app design soon. Wimbim is where sports fans unite! It’s basically foursquare for sports fans. Wimbim provides sports fans with real-time information about where to watch the game with other fans rooting for the same team. Look for it online soon!
Inside Peewee’s Playhouse Launched
Vani recently completed a project in collaboration with Caseen Gaines. Gaines is the author of Inside Peewee’s Playhouse. A few months ago Vani launched the re-design of Red Arc Music.com, based out of Santa Monica, California. The same team hired Vani to help bring their music label for artists to life under the Angry Mob Music Brand. Angry Mob Music’s style is grungier, darker and more suited to the name of the label. Long Live Harry Potter!
How does a brand like Harry Potter plan to stay alive after the last 2 movies are released and the story ends forever? That is the same question the executives at Warner Brothers are asking. They have enlisted the help of some creative minds (Vani) and technology experts to brainstorm how to keep the dark haired, glasses wearing, boy who lived under the stairs in the minds, libraries and silver screens of their audience for generations to come. Vani helped create a pitch and delivered concepts for sustainable marketing to Warner Brothers earlier this year. The images shown below are purely concepts, but keep your fingers crossed and hopefully some of them will be developed in the future!

Ghost Whisperer Farewell Video Gets Halloween Frame!
The supernatural show’s star and executive producer, Jennifer Love Hewitt, wanted to give fans a nostalgic peek behind the scenes at how the sets look now, as Halloween rolls near, also reflecting on the many memories piled up while galavanting through Grandview. RED ARC Music, based out of Santa Monica, California; hired Vani to help bring their music label for film and television to life early 2010. The partners of RED ARC Music were open to something very edgy, unique and not corporate! Vani chose to immerse the audience in an “environment” that was inspired by the actual offices of RED ARC for the landing page, and then went with a minimalistic approach for the sub pages. Vani recently paired up with SLAM 360 to create a series of online advertising pieces to promote LIVE! With Regis and Kelly guest stars. The ads were used on social media sites including Facebook as well as other online platforms. She also recently wrapped up an online game design for LIVE! Swazzle Re-Design Launched!
Okay so we all LOVE the Muppets, Fraggles, the Sesame Street gang etc!!! You can imagine how thrilled I was when I got the opportunity to meet and work with the Swazzle team of extremely talented puppeteers. We embarked on a website re-design project to modernize and improve their online presence, and better integrate with social media platforms. The key to this project was; it needed to be visually FUN & COLORFUL, but still be PROFESSIONAL and easy to use. Swazzle.com just went live with the updated design! EdgeStream Set Top Box Gets Re-design
Vani recently collaborated with EdgeStream. A company that operates a video delivery network that allows global end users to stream on demand, to their pc or tv with broadcast quality video over the public Internet. This new screen design demonstrates EdgeStream’s HD IPTV capability on television via a stb (set top box) embedded with its technology. Check out the EdgeStream Site (also designed by Vani).
Creative Streamline
Creative Streamline is a multimedia consulting and broadcast production company. They had an old site that needed to be modernized! Vani helped bring the content, videos and media links to life by taking the vision of the client and making it shine on screen. There is a fine line between being too personalized verses too cold and business like. This site highlights the personal and professional nature of the client that helps make them so successful! One of Vani’s favorite projects this year. It turned out BEAUTIFUL! Check it out.

Paymentsite Launched
Property Management Paymentsite – Rental Payment Management. This was a long project, a lot of hands were in the cookie jar while going through the creative process, but it finally launched! YEAH! The client wanted a completely custom design, rather than going with the ever so popular templates the CMS systems today offer. Each pixel, icon, photography, and typography was set in place the “old-school” Photoshop layout way and then converted into a website. Though the process was long, the payoff was well worth it. The end result is a professional, personalized, business website. Check it out.
Executive Outhouses Re-branded
Executive Outhouses! Not a very glamorous topic…but definitely needed to be branded with a glamorous touch. How do you do that? Vani took the existing, stark white, boring design and added a lot of drama to the design. She dropped the product into it’s setting (parties, outdoor events, film sets) to help drive home the picture of where these glamorous “potties” can help! The logo got a revamp, while staying within the “outhouse” zone. Check it out here!

New Vani Original – Munchkin Inspiration
Inspired by Kids Art! Recently Vani was looking at craft books and creative activities to introduce her toddler to. To her surprise she stumbled across a magnificent kids art book. By the end of the weekend, Vani and her kiddo had created multiple projects together! Above is one of the pieces using watercolor, black ink and silver highlights that turned out to be one of her favorites. It just goes to show sometimes the little munchkins of the world can inpire the grownups to be GREAT!

Vani just completed a new painting for her 2010 collection! She’s very excited to share this new piece with everyone. It’s a 30 x 30 inch painting on stretched canvas using acrylic and oil pastels. She’s not sure what to name it yet, so if you have recommendations start sharing!

Silver Spoon Baby Online Store Launched
Design By Vani created a custom solution for a family business making heirloom quality blankets. Their requirement was to develop a site that is professional yet not corporate. It needed to showcase their beautiful blankets, have an online store and have a vintage look and feel with a bit of a modern twist. Design An Experience – Rangoli
Rangoli is one of the most popular art forms in India. It is a form of sand and floral decoration that uses finely ground coloured powders, and is commonly done outside homes in India.
The term rangoli is derived from the words rang (colour) and aavalli (‘coloured creepers’ or ‘row of colours’).
Below is an example of a modern take on Rangoli we used during my sister’s wedding. My Aunt and Mom are shown above laying down a variety of petals, leaves and lentils to decorate the entrance to the wedding house. In the evening the design was lit with tea lights and created a festive, auspicious entrance for pre-wedding events.
Design An Experience – Halloween
Halloween Time for Kids! – We decided to host a “toddler” inspired Halloween event. Above is the table decor I came up with. Simple solutions for working moms and dads. Paper goods in the theme of funny monsters and pumpkins. Pre-pizza munchies in colors of orange and black (or dark chocolate). A tablecloth created by layering an orange colored everyday table cloth with a yard and half of halloween fabric purchased from the local crafts shop. Add in some orange flickering candles, ghools and witches sitting ontop of cupcakes and a minnie mouse pumpkin and you’re ready to party!
NBC’s Chuck Character Pages
Vani is currently working on a series of web pages for NBC’s hit comedy/drama CHUCK! In collaboration with mypageo, a theme will be created for each character including: Chuck Bartowski, Sarah Walker, John Casey, Morgan Grimes, and Ellie Woodcomb. Each themed page will include video clips featuring each character, a photo gallery, a biography and links to online apps such as facebook, myspace and twitter.
Diversion TV User Experience Design
Vani is currently wrapping up a interesting user experience project in the world of action sports videos. Going Green with LH Organics
Design By Vani just launched a new green client project called LH Organics. Their goal is to Purify and Improve the Methods of Growing and Processing Today’s Food Products through Economically Competitive Alternatives. The design goal was to take powerpoint slides which the client was using to help communicate their processes and services and develop a simple, clean, and fresh design for displaying the content on the web.
