After Vani appeared on HGTV’s “That’s Clever” in the fall of 2005, she caught the eye of one of the producers on the DIY Network (Do It Yourself Projects). After going through a series of interviews and discussions of what Vani’s latest and greatest creative venture was, the production team decided to feature her in a half hour program called Craft Lab hosted by Jennifer Perkins.

The half hour segment aired in October 2007 (almost a year after filming), and featured Vani walking through her unique techniques on how to take an age old art form such as wood burning and use it to create vivacious, modern designs on her custom iconic box purses!

Vani has always had a PASSION FOR FASHION! This love for fashion led her to her newest endeavor . Purse Making! Imagine having a collection of unique handcrafted purses with any color and / or motif your heart desires.

The Home and Garden Television Network Channel recognized the uniqueness in Vani’s purse creations and decided to visit her studio to see how and where she develops these creative fashion pieces. During the summer of 2005, Vani opened her home studio to the HGTV film and sound crew and spent the day taking them behind the scenes of where she gets her inspiration, and how she crafts the final purse.

Design By Vani Featured On The TV Guide Channel’s Open Call!

In this episode the host Marki Costello searches for the next Creative Diva to fill Martha Stewart’s shoes. Vani’s endeavor can be witnessed firsthand during this episode.

Vani Gundara stood in long lines at Hollywood and Highlands Kodak Theater just for a shot to prove to the casting directors that she deserves the title of Creative Diva.

During a quick 5 minute on camera audition, Vani showed off her creative skills by bringing Marki one of her new products, Design By Vani Original Purses, as well as debuting her digital scrapbook product line.

Later that day Vani received a callback saying that she was one of the top 3 finalists, and would be attending an on-air casting where she would have 10 minutes to present the talent, ambition and vision behind her company – Design By Vani.

The top spot on this show was not destined to go to Vani that day, but she showed the world that her creative style, and flair for design is truly unique and something to watch out for!
